MUSIC TEACHER

Job start          :           August 2022 or January 2023

Knewton Global Schools Miri is located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo.  Our campus has both a British International and a National Private School, caring for approximately 380 students aged 3-16 years old from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.

Applications are invited from qualified, experienced Music teachers to join our school. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a recognised degree related to the subject taught (Music);
  • Have a teaching qualification (e.g. B Ed., PGDT, PGCE);
  • Have at least two years’ teaching experience;
  • Be able to develop, implement and deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated Music curriculum;
  • Have a keen interest in organising musical productions;
  • Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives;
  • Assess, record and report on the progress, development and attainment of students to support their learning;
  • Keep up to date with developments in teaching practice and methodology and in the relevant curriculum areas;
  • Take a full and active role in supporting extracurricular activities and delivering the School’s Guiding statement and development plans.

PERSONAL LEARNING ASSISTANT

Knewton Global Schools Miri is seeking to recruit Personal Learning Assistant who can provide one-to-one support to pupils with additional needs.  These assistants will be responsible for promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil to whom they are assigned, to enable him/her to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.

Job requirements:

  • Minimum qualification of SPM with English, Maths and Science (but further qualifications in education or childcare would be desirable).
  • Experience in working with children would be advantageous
  • Excellent command of English is essential

Description

Knewton Global Schools Miri is located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo.  Our campus has both a British International and a National Private School, caring for approximately 400 students aged 3-17 years old from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced English teacher to lead the English Department of our private National school and teach English throughout the Secondary (Malaysian National Curriculum). This position is for January 2023 start.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a recognised teaching qualification related to the subject taught;
  • Have extensive experience teaching English in the Secondary levels;
  • Have significant experience and knowledge of the Malaysian National Curriculum;
  • Inspire students and ensure a high-quality learning experience in English;
  • Develop, implement and deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum in English across the Secondary School up to SPM;
  • Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives;
