SECONDARY ENGLISH TEACHER

Knewton Global Schools Miri is located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo.  Our campus has both a British International and a National Private School, caring for approximately 530 students aged 3-17 years old from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced English teacher to teach English subject throughout the Secondary (Malaysian National Curriculum).  

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a recognised teaching qualification related to the subject taught; 
  • Have extensive experience teaching English in the Secondary levels up to SPM; 
  • Have significant experience and knowledge of the Malaysian National Curriculum; 
  • Inspire students and ensure a high-quality learning experience in English; 
  • Develop, implement and deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum in English across the Secondary School up to SPM; 
  • Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives; 
  • Assess, record and report on the progress, development and attainment of students to support their learning;
  • Keep up to date with developments in teaching practice and methodology and in the relevant curriculum areas; 
  • Take a full and active role in supporting extracurricular activities and delivering the School’s Guiding statement and development plans.

NATIONAL SCHOOL TEACHERS

Knewton Global Schools Miri is located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo. We seek to recruit National School Teachers:
1. Swimming Teacher
2. Primary Mathematics Cover Teacher (June-September)

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess at least a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (a teaching qualification would be an advantage).
  • Preferably those who can teach a combination of subjects/levels.
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge of the Malaysian National Curriculum.
  • Patient, caring, responsible and passionate about teaching.
  • Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Malay and English.
  • A team player and flexible to meet the needs of the department.

INTERNATIONAL SECONDARY SCIENCE TEACHER - BIOLOGY

Knewton Global Schools Miri is located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo. Our campus has both a British International and a National Private School, caring for approximately 530 students aged 3-17 years old from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.

Our International Secondary School follows the Cambridge IGCSE Curriculum.

The Role:

We are looking for an inspirational, energetic, dynamic and highly motivated International Secondary Science Teacher-Biology to join our dynamic teaching team to provide quality teaching and learning for our students. There will be middle leadership opportunities for suitably qualified candidates.

Job Requirements:

  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE).
  • English proficiency at excellent level.
  • Minimum two years’ teaching experience in secondary education.
  • Experience teaching in the Cambridge Syllabus in international schools preferred.
  • Good knowledge of the Cambridge Science Curriculum and experience in delivering practical lessons in labs.
  • Ability to communicate with students, colleagues and parents, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • A willingness and commitment to contribute fully to the life of the students and school beyond the academic day, including active participation in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes.

PERSONAL LEARNING ASSISTANT

Knewton Global Schools Miri is located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo. Our campus has both a British International and a National Private School, caring for approximately 530 students aged 3-17 years old from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.

Knewton Global Schools Miri is seeking to recruit Personal Learning Assistant who can provide one-to-one support to pupils with additional needs.  These assistants will be responsible for promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil to whom they are assigned, to enable him/her to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.

Job Description:

  • Minimum qualification of SPM with English, Maths and Science (but further qualifications in education or childcare would be desirable).
  • Experience in working with children would be advantageous.
  • Excellent command of English is essential.
