The temporary measure of distance schooling is a new experience for me, it’s my first time trying to get work done through online classes and assignments. As the days pass, I’m starting to get used to the distance learning routine that I have implemented into my day. I've learned the importance of time management, I’m able to manage and organise my schedule effectively and accomplishing what’s more important first."
- Xin Ying (Year 10)
"For me, the temporary online learning programme has been very interesting; it has taught me to manage my time well and how to set a good daily routine at home. It has really helped me with my organisational skills and how to stay in control under stress. However, there have been a few challenges with the online learning programme, such as waking up on time to attend lessons and making sure that you don't hand in your work late. Regardless, it has been a really good experience for me and it has taught me a lot of things that can help me a lot in the future."
- Karin Ong (Year 8)
"Distance learning is about being able to work at your own pace in your own space, all while still being able to communicate with teachers and classmates, which makes this whole new learning experience both fun and engaging."
- Minke (Year 9)
“Distance learning has been a great opportunity to learn good time management skills. I like being able to work at my own pace while still being able to get all the help I need from teachers and peers. Overall, the experience has been very fun.”
- Sofi Lea (Year 9)
"We are an Australian family living in Miri and we wanted our children to continue their education following the International primary curriculum. I find the students here are happy, respectful and friendly. The school has an active PTA that works to build a community not just for the kids, but for the whole family."
- Deborah Ruth Pack (Parent)
My child has improved significantly in her reading, writing and communication skills, thanks to the dedication and commitments from her teachers. The school is a wonderful place and definitely a great place for learning.
- Anthony Chin (Parent)
We have noticed enormous growth within our children, mentally and emotionally. The children are excited to go to school in the mornings and as parents we have never looked back. We are proud to be part of the school’s family.
- Michelle Oosthuizen (Parent)
My children are more confident, assertive and able to voice their opinions freely, which they would not have been able to do in Japan. There are a lot of opportunities in this school and students are encouraged to take challenges.
- Putri Kartikawati (Parent)
“There have been many great changes around the school. I’m really happy with the environment and learning ICT has been really fun.”
- Davika (Year 4)
“The teachers here are very friendly, everyone is internationally minded and respectful of each other."
- Lau Li Ting ( Year 6)
I love the fact that I get to use so many of the school's great facilities - the auditorium, swimming pool, multiple sports, music rooms, art rooms and all the different CCAs and events that we can participate in.
